“Yesterday is History. Tomorrow is a Mystery. Today is a Gift”
Eleanor Roosevelt
At eighteen, she entered New York City’s prestigious Bellevue Hospital School of Nursing and began a career that spanned six decades. Meeting challenge after challenge, she became an officer in the Army Nurse Corps Reserves, followed by experiences in Coronary Care; Intensive Care; Emergency Nursing; Medical-Surgical specialties; Renal Transplant and Hemodialysis; Risk Management; Medical-Legal Consultation; Oncological Research; and Oncology Advocacy and Oncology Patient Navigation. She earned certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Trauma Nursing, and Oncology Nursing, and along the way, Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees in English and Creative Writing and a Juris Doctor degree in Law.
A born story – teller, Barbara has begun her next project, SEEKER OF EVERYDAY MAGIC, narrative non-fiction about life and living including Confessions of a Slot Machine Queen, Chess With Bobby Fisher, and Gone-But-Not-Forgotten Garden. She lives in a perpetual future and plans to devote the next chapter of her life to writing, and to inspiring her readers to “laugh, choose with no regrets, do what you love, and live as if this is all there is.” *
